What I do: I look after a portfolio of 100 or so clients, managing their accounts, tax VAT and payroll needs. I try and steer them as smoothly as possible through the vagaries of our tax system but when problems arise, I particularly enjoy tackling HMRC to achieve a fair result for my clients.

Interests: I enjoy getting together with family and friends, gardening, health and wellbeing. I also go walking with friends around the countryside; have played tennis, successfully rowed Bedford’s beautiful Great Ouse and especially love skiing in Austria and Italy. I am a Bedford Blues season ticket holder and attend some of the away games too. I have enjoyed many UK city breaks.

Favourite place: New York. It simply took my breath away. I had a WOW! moment every day there.

Describe yourself in three words: dedicated, trustworthy and happy.
